About this Content
The map of Heliopolis was created as part of the seminar "Literary Topography".
The aim of the seminar was to make Ernst Jünger's novel Heliopolis (1949) sustainably accessible with digital tools by making the topography of the fictional novel landscape visible as an online map. In particular, the central ciphers of the novel were to be deciphered.
In a collaborative blended learning process, Jünger's novel was meticulously analysed from a topographical point of view, and the textual data was then transformed into graphic data.
