About this Content OER
The "Modern Chinese V" language course at Ruhr-Universität Bochum was redesigned in terms of content and didactics as part of the "Language 4.0 - Digital Skills for China (2022-2023)" project, funded by the "Curriculum 4.0.nrw" funding line of the Digital University NRW (see https://www.dh.nrw/kooperationen/Curriculum%204.0.nrw-51). The aim of the redesign was to focus on building skills for the Chinese-speaking digital space.
Through appropriate exercises that reflect the social-digital reality in China and Taiwan, students should be able to use digital technologies confidently in Chinese contexts.
In addition, they should be able to adequately assess the potentials and effects of digitalization in East Asian societies and working environments, especially in mainland China and Taiwan, in order to keep pace with the dynamics of change.
Since the winter semester 22/23, the course has been offered regularly in its new form for four hours per week, two hours of which are face-to-face and two hours as an online tandem with students from two partner universities in China and Taiwan.
The course is aimed at students who already have advanced knowledge of the modern Chinese standard language at the final level of the module "Modern Chinese Intermediate"
(CS-4) or "Modern Chinese Intermediate 2" (CS-5).
Lateral entrants must first take a placement test.
